Last saturday me, my wife and my father in law went on a boar hunt
It was a preserve in Six points Pennsylvania called the pig farm.
at this preserve them get trapped pigs from all around north America and Canada,
the also raise and release russian boars there,
Anyway when we got there we were told that they had a
big bad Ferral boar on the property, This guy goes 900lbs.
and has at least 2 inch tusks and is as mean as they come
I wanted my father in law to harvest this animal more then anything.
He was using his thompson center chambered in a 405.
My fiancee was using her weatherby 30-378 magnum.
with hand loaded 180 grain ballistic tips, makes a big bang.
all i had was my howa .270
We were only hunting for about 45. minutes when she said
here comes a real big boar, i turned and knew rightaway it
was the one they toldus about!!!
It was on a direct path right for us, it got within 30 yards and turned and
then layeddown in the creek about 20 yards quartering away.
It was the perfect shotoppurtunity and she layed it on him!!!
she made a great shot and blew his heart to peices, but when
she shot him he jumped right up as if he was going to charge!
I layed two shots in him and dropped him on the spot
He was hugh and the adrenalin was a pumpin
her father shot a 700lb. + sow also hugh,
They also offer Ram hunts and opted to shoot a black hawiian Ram
with a full curl and a half.

Its been along time since i had any fear of what i was hunting,
but when you got 900lbs. of pissed off power in front you makes
you wonder what if?
