I am moving to Delray Beach, FL, near West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale(before you laugh, I am blue-collar and from the midwest) for work and was wondering how far the closest public bowhunting area is. I want to go after tusks, so even input on a good place to go public, private, orwhatever would be appreciated.
My youngest's Godfather is a Delray cop.. some nice areas there... some not so nice too.
There are a couple of WMAs in the area, and little more to the west is the Big O' and there are some free range and high fence operations there... I got a list of places, on the work 'puter.. if you can wait until Mon I can PM ya the list...
Ol Rebel Hog and some of the others can tell you of areas as well..

Since Delray is in south Palm Beach county, there are a few!
Wanting to hunt hog with ML this winter, and seeing WMA have seasons and lots of regs. Looked at FL outfitters, seems most are ala-carte this $ for this and that $ for that. Saw Chappy's mentioned here checked website. Drove down for hunt, planning to stay at their motel for next day hunt. While admiring 5 hogs taken by 2 guys over his dogs with hand guns. Brett asked if I wanted to hunt that afternoon. Here's the smiling results "bar" boar. Want to do combo fishing/hunt next time.
Thanks guys! Looks like leaving my bow behind would be a horrible idea! Chappy's looks like a good outfitter too. Rebel, what ballpark would I be in if I wanted to stand hunt there? And how much are their trophy fees, if any?
still says $75 a day Plus $100 per hog.For $25 more they skin/cape, quarter and put your kill on their shaved ice in your ice chest. As quick and neatly as they did all that for $25 I'd highly recommend it. That was my cost for the hunt. I stayed at their motel 1 night with tax was about
$73. You can pm me if you want more pic or details.
Regards,
