Default Hi everyone

Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. Now, I don't want to start out on the wrong foot but I have never gone hog hunting, but am very intrigued. So here is the hum dinger - what does wild hog taste like? I assume it is similar to domesticated farm stock but I have never had the luxury of trying it.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Like pork, but with a Wild Tang to it! Like Duck tastes like Chicken with a wild tang, Like Pheasants taste like chicken with a wild tang.

We use a marinade which is Sour Orange Basewith Olive Oil, Bay Leaf, Basil,Salt, Pepper and a pinch of Oregano and brush it on with a 4" brush every 15 mins.

Wild hog is just pork for the do-it-yourselfers.

Well howdy!

When you finally do get a chance to try it, you'll love it. Whether its stew, grilled, fried or barbequed, it's all good!

Welcome Kris. First of all if your going to hang around this froum you might want to pull out your old boots and put them on, it gets pretty deep in here sometimes. Hunters are like fishermen, just bigger lies ...

Welcome

And those of us who don't know, make up lies! Then we make you laugh.

Thanks, for the welcome. I only have 16" boots so i guess i'll step lightly

Now I guess I need to find someplace to hunt. I haven't heard of many hogs in Illinois and Indiana
