Default tusks

how come the hogs in indiana don't have good size tusks anybody got an answer??

usually it just takes age to get the big ones.most of the time, the older they get ,the bigger the teeth get. JMHO

That and depending on what species they are plus if you have real rocky ground the hogs tend to wear them down as they are rooting around.

No answer to your question but I'm sure that it involves age and variety of feral hog present there.

Males have the big canine teeth and they continue to grow all of their life. The length is curtailed by the wear on the upper tooth, but on occasion the upper tooth gets broken or is misaligned and the lower tooth will grow almost in a full circle.
