Got me a pig!!!
well yesterday i shot me a pig. i was out hunting on my neighbor's lease and had the opportunity and took it. we got within about 40 yards of the pigs and they didn't seem to care. they were out in the middle of a field feeding. there was one rather large sow the probably went just over 200# with about 13 20 # piglets. there was another sow that we judged to be about 80. once the lone sow cleared the big sow i pulled up and dropped here at about 40 yards. i didn't have a clear shot at a her head but didn't want to risk her going into the tall brush or back to the herd therefore preventing a shot. i hit right about on top of the elbow of the near shoulder and exited in the same place using my Rem 30-06 with 150 gr Winchester powerpoints. it turned out that she weighed about 95#. the bullet turned the entire chest cavity into jelly. hopefully i'll have pictures soon but it may take a while.
