Default Screw Disney! I wanna hunt some hogs!

I'm heading to Orlando in late December to watch my Boilermakers (hopefully) emerge victorious against whomever the ACC decides to send to the Champs Sports Bowl.

Is there somewhere nearby where I could nail a hog during my 4 days down there?

Thanks!

My brother-in-law did a hunt down that way. He paid his money, the guy took him out in a jeep, they scared up a hog, shot it, had it cleaned & quartered and packed up, and he was outta there.

Time elapsed:About half an hour, according to him.

I have no idea what he paid for this experience, or which outfitter he went to.

I've contacted some different places down near Lake Okeechobee, but that's a bit farther than I want to drive.

My girlfriend loves fishing, but has agreed to hunt a hog, too.I'm now feeling-out some bass fishing guides near Orlando, to see if they know anyone who can hook me up with a hog.I'm trying to set up a "Surf & Turf" day, where we'll spend 1/2 day at eachactivity.

Right now, the plan is for me to take my .30-06. My friend, however, is 4'8", and only a smidge over 80 lbs. She hasn't been able to shoulder any of my rifles, but she's awfully good with my .357 mag. I'm guessing that'll be plenty of medicine for a small hog.

I'll keep you posted!

Hey Folically Challenged,
I am a Boilermaker fan as well. I might be at the game. Anyway, If you decide to make a trip to Okeechobee let me know. I just took my Outdoorsmen Club from my college down there on a hog hunt and we hunted with a great guy. I hunted with them one time before and they are awesome. They take you out in a buggy on their preserve and drive around until you jump one up or they will turn their dogs loose and you can watch the dogs work the hogs, it is a lot of fun. I took mine with a knife, it is a major rush and extremely exciting. Anyway, if you decide to make the drive down there, it is about 2 hours from Orlando. I will give you the guys name and number if you want it. The cost is only $200 for a meat hog which is very reasonable. They are there to give you a good time.

Check this place out its about an hour from Disney www.bearbridgeranch.com its $200 and day for two meat hogs which is like a 100-120 lb sow. Its a 100 acre fenced hunt so you will see a bunch of hogs. Not the most hardcore hunt but if fun.

We're going to be in Daytona Beach next March/April and I'm looking to book a pig hunt, too. Saw this place on the TV show American Archer. I believe it's located fairly close to Orlando!

Wabash, I didn't mean to ignore you. I was checking into 3 or 4 different places. I ended up going with a bass guide named Monte Goodman of Central Florida Bucketmouths. He's got a buddy with a 4,000 acre cattle ranch that's got lots of lakes & lots of hogs.

There were a few other guys who were trying to put together packages for me, but they were in 2 different places. I really like the idea of the 1 stop shopping!

Wish me luck!
