where should I place a Thermacell?

I just bought a Thermacell for this hog hunting opening weekend but not quite sure where I should put it? Should it be at the base of the tree or on the foot rest of the tree climber or near the armrest or over my head ...? Please let me know your experience.

I took a piece of 4 inch c iron and cut it to the same length as my therma cell. On the bottom of the c iron I welded a big screw hook. I screw the c iron in the tree just below me, right under my butt, and slide the therma cell in it. Before I made my thermacell holder, I would place it some where near and under me, id take two little bungy cords and strap it on the tree or my stand. They are only goodto 15 square feet, and if it is too low, it will not work. If you are on the ground, just lay it down near you.

i'd do what burnie does, lol......i usally stick mine on my climber somewhere, not at the base of the tree, them skeeters would find ya, lol......
