A buddy of mine has a TV show called "The Outdoor Guide" and on August 12th (OLN TV) he is going to air the episodewhere he goes head to head with a 180lb feral hog with nothing more than his air rifle. Check out his site to read more and to try out the monthly photo contest. Winner gets a NICE gun cleaning kit from Kleen-Bore.
I don't know if they set out for hogs while hunting or what the exact scenerio was, all I know is he squared off with one with an air rifle. I set my dvr to record it so i'll let you know more after I see the hunt.
If this guy planned on this hunt, he's a loon toon. Who wakes up and thinks "hey lets go hunt pigs with a pellet gun, why thats something thats never been done before" Come on its not ethical not to mention i have a Beeman that shoot 1200fps and i have hit crows dead on and they can still fly away. All this guy is going to do is piss off a 180lb pig..........
How do you take down a full grown hog with a high powered BB gun ? What's the shot placement ? Mine does 1,000 FPS and I wouldn't try anything larger than a bunny with it , maybe a young coon on a headshot . There was a guy who went by Sifu Skyler on here awhile back who was touting those air cylinder powered high velocity models , but I still don't see how you could take down a pig with one , even in .22 caliber , they just couldn't generate enough energy to take out an animal that size . You need to get your bud on here to answer these questions in order for us to understand better .
