Default 3/20/06 hunt

the rain finally let up enough this mornin to do a little huntin .got the dogs and wheelers ready and rollin by 930.spittin on us the first few hours.
we get to a place called DU.and cut fresh tracks as we went in.the dogs wanted to come off the hood right off but came back after a few minutes.made the round the 160 and was almost back to the gate when they a;ll thru their heads up and off they go.watched em head strait into the wind and headin away.we beat it around the section but the tracker had dogs in 2 directions.backed up and went further east cause my son thsaid he heard a fait bark.YOUNG EARS.2 miles from where we started came to an intersection ,shut the motor off to listen nothin, just then we look down in the big drainage ditch beside the road and old Ranger had a pig stuck back agaist the water gap.dumped Zeke and sow #1 caught and hobbled.got her loaded up and went to find the rest of dogs.all of em lookin for us comin down the roads.
went and hit another spot 10 miles away where we caught hogs before .the hogs are realy spread thin in my neck of the wooods.but we did cut tracks where there wasn't any yesterday. they went into the mesquite patch just like before.THICKand cactus.get to the other side of the thicket and hit the hogs. they split like cockroaches ,dogs goin everywhere.caught 1 right off and my bro had another 1 loaded by the time we were loaded.my GFsaid over the radio "ranger has 1 bayed a 1/2 mile across the wheat.but the HOG GURU forgot to get gas in his truck so he needed her to take him OUR wheeelr gas and then he could help her with the bay. by the time we got out of the thicket Ranger had lost the bay and came back to the truck.after a little butt chewin we went to see if we could pick em back up but they hit a sow down on the creek and only caught 3 piglets.for the effort.by then the wind had realy picked up so we decided to call it a day.sure was a long ride home in wind.like to of blowed a few dogs off the hood.no action pics and i cant get PB to download the pics.maybe later

Default RE: 3/20/06 hunt

I went out this last Sat. and arrowed a nice boar, but it was just like you said, it spit on me the whole time. I walked my butt off trying to stalk just one. Sounds like yall still had a good time.
