Default snap shells??

im not sure what they are called--snap something--anyway, i bought 2 for my rem 7mm mag. these are for dry firing-to get used to not flinching. the probelm is that i cant get the bolt closed on my rifle when i put one in the chamber. am i doing something wrong? i tried both--same result. bolt wont close.

There called snap caps.

It sounds like your extractor isn't picking up the rim of the snap cap to allow the bolt to close with it in the chamber. Can you put the snap cap in the magazine and chamber it that way???

Try it and let us know,

I have seen a mold line on Packmeyer snap caps that would not alow chambering .
Just had to clean it up.

Just dry fire it and toss the snap caps inthe trash.

You're not gonna hurt a modern firearm one bit by dry firing it.

Snap caps are just something else for you to spend money on unnecessarily on. Use it on ammo and go practice.

my gunsmith told me to take a spent round with the primer off and to fill it with silicone if you want to make your own snap caps.
