simmons- aetec or whitetail expedition
hi all, i just won one of each on ebay. the aetec is 2.8x10x44 and the whitetail expedition is 1.5x6x32, both are matte finish. don't ask how i did it but i ended up winning both auctions. now i need to figure out which one to put on my bar markII lightweight .270, all my shots with the bar are under 200 yards so i would think the expedition would be good for this. i was thinking of saving the aetec for the nef survivor .223 that i'm buying in the near future for a coyote rig. does this sound like a good idea? i know once i recieve them and look through both side by side i'll be saying which one for the .270
thank's, steve

I have been trying to keep myself out of these comparison threads, because it turns into everybody saying "Mine is better cause I killed 5 deer with it" !!. But I will participate in this one because of my love for the Simmons Aetec. I currently own 5 of them, I have them on everything from a 25-06 to a 300 RUM. The light they pick up is incredible, and the picture is crystal clear. You cannot get a better scope for the $125-135 you probably spent on that scope!!!! Its your choice, but IMHO that Aetec would be on that BAR!!!

I used to be a Leupold fan until I bought an Aetec. I agree the pick up is easily the best part of that scope. You can be head over heels in buck fever and still find the target. Go with the Aetec.

I have no experience with the W.E., but I'm very impressed and pleased with the Aetec on my 7mm RM. It holds it's accuracy and helps that rifle shoot ~5/8 MOA.
