Which rings? Savage 12BVSS w/ Simmons Aetec 3.8-12X44

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a set of rings for a Savage 12BVSS .223 with a Simmons Aetec 3.8-12X44. I have this scope on my 111F .270 right now and it just barely clears the barrel with 1" high rings (approximately .010" clearance). I think the only reason it fits is because of the taper in the barrel. I don't have the 12BVSS yet so I can't try mounting it, but I'm thinking that with the heavy barrel it won't clear. So I need to know how high the rings have to be and if anyone can recommend a good brand. I have the Weaver brand rings on my .270 and they seem kind of cheesy with the sheet metal clamp on top.
