Default NRA CONVENTION

I just came from the NRA convention in Houston. It felt great to be aroud the top shelf of Americans for a while. Everyone had a great attitude and, unlike some shows I've been to, everyone didn't swear they were an expert on everything.
The various gun, knife, optics etc companies were very nice and would discuss their products professionally. The Leupold folks were very nice, the Gerber people showed me all of their latest stuff and the Savage people took my misgivings about the acu-trigger as a point to be discussed instead of an attack.
All in all I have to say it was a wonderful experience. It will be in Milwakee(sp?) next year, hopefully I'll be able to go.

Good to Hear it ! I was at the one last year in Pittsburgh, Pa. It was the same there. Everyone was freindly and having a good time being around other people who shared their interests.

You can see alot of the speeches and interviews on www.NRAnews.com in the archives section

I went to the one in Orlando FL April 03. I had a great time. I met several Ruger people, R.L Wilson was there.Great displays with tons of information.I sure wish I was able go to all of them. Maybe someday it will happen.I know I am proud to be part of the NRA.Going to the NRA Convention made me realize what a great organization I belong to.Charlton Heston was there for his farewell, unfortunately I misssed seeing him.

I went to the one here in Dallas in '96 (I think that was the year). Bad timing, it was the aniversary to the day of the OKC bombing. Lots of tension there. Other than that it was enjoyable.
