Default Sig Trailside WARNING

I bought a Trailside to shoot in a local pistol legue.
After 5 weeks it quit firing .
Under the right side grip there is a small spring (part #14 ) trigger bar spring.
It broke , I called Sig to get a new one.
I was told that the spring needs to be changed every 5000 rnds ( I had less than 700 thru the gun ).
It took 2 weeks to get new springs from Sig ( no charge)
There is nothing in the manual about this.
So if you have a Trailside get a extra spring from them ,it only took 5 min to replace after the 2 week wait.

But I had to borrow a gun to shoot week 6 and 7 of the league .

My scores went from 460's out of 500 to 420's
I came in 12th overall
I was hoping for much better
If I had shot 460 straight thru all 8 weeks I would have come in second or third !

Only have to change a cheap spring every 5000 rounds? not bad. heck of a lot better than paying ~$100 t upgrade the trigger on a Ruger MKII that turns to absolute mush after 1000 rounds.

Huh, I got about 4-5K through my MkII and it still has the same crisp release as always. I'de say about 90% of the complaints in my league about poor mk2 performance was the fact the guns are dirty. About every 500 rounds or so I strip mine down completely, ergo all the way down, everything apart, and get all the lead shavings and what not out.

I am not knocking the Trailside .
I truely love the Trailside .
Just need to keep a spring in the shooting box .
Other guys I know have LOTS of rnds thru their Trailside.
With no problems .
Just giving you guys a heads up .
