Default questions on cz 550

looking at this gun in.270 The only ones at a store I saw seemed to have a rough action. Anybody out there have any comments on this gun. Also what degree is the bolt lift ? I have already looked at their web site.

I have 2 full stock versions....7x57 and 243 with the clip, and a 17 Rem with clip. Their actions seem fairly smooth especially the 243 and .17. They are great shooters and the 17 has fantastic wood. I don't like the CZ mounts on the 7x57....seems a little high, however, if you are going to mount a scope with a large objective lens, they are fine. The set triggers are supurb. Great shooters at a great price. Don't know the bolt lift...they seem to be similar to my Sakos. If the action seem rough, I'd look around some more. There is a fello in georgia that sells on gun broker that has teriffic prices. Good luck and regards, rick.

I got one last year in 6.5x55. I love it. Not sure exactly how many degrees the bolt lift is but it appears quite similar to the Mauser 98 in that respect.

The action is not quite as smooth as the Ruger M77 MkII but it is still pretty good. The trigger is interesting; the standard pull is about 4 lbs with slight creep. The single set feature is about 1 lb or so and is great for target shooting but would scare me silly in a hunting situation.

Out of the box with factory ammo this was the most accurate rifle I ever owned. It gave me honest 1" 5 shot groups @ 100 yds with some old PMC 139 grain PSP loads. I've not been able to get this good with hand;oads yet but I haven't spent much time on it lately either.

FRom the factory they come pillar bedded and with hand lapped bores. I would love to have one of these in 7x57; maybe I will save up for one. If you are considering one of these I can recommend them as a fine rifle at a low price.

My buddy has the .30-06 with the manlicher stock and it is very accurate. With its 18 inch barrel and 4 power scope it is a great bush rifle, as well as for other hunting applications as well.
