Default My First Pistol

I finally got my permit. I guess the postcard got lost in the mail or so they say. I got a Ruger P97 and went to the range today. It shoots great!!!! For the price and quality(100% US made) I just love everything about it. I get good groups but I have never really shot before with a pistol. I have a hard time with the first shot if the hammer is down(double action) But that just means I have to shoot more to get better.

My first pistol was a Magnum Research baby eagle in .40 S&W
It would do 3" at 25yd all day. The grips were perfect and it looked great!

I bought it with my own money at the age of 16 or 17 but it was in my dads name. I had intended on getting into stuff like IDPA and stuff like that but I never did.

Man I miss that gun.......

Congratulations. My first was a Smith and Wesson model 67 Combat Masterpiece. I thought I was something else. I wish I still had it today. Enjoy your purchase.

my first was a Charter arms Target Bulldog in 357 magnum 4" barrel adjustable sights, i picked it up used for $90, just couldnt pass up a 357 for 90 dollars ( even though i didnt like the fact its a 5 shot cylinder, not 6 like most revolvers) it appeared in almost new condition the only thing wrong with it, it had some holster wear on the end of the barrel other then that its a sound firearm and holds 2 to 3 inch groups at 25 yards. I know alot of people look at charter arms as cheapo guns like a hi point. But I have been more then happy with it and feel i got more then my 90 dollars worth from it. Ive killed a deer with it using some hot handloads pushing a 158 grain Hornady XTP at 1322 fps according to a 3 shot average through a chronograph. I like to take it squirrel hunting using light loaded 38's, now days since i moved to Arizona i mainly use it for a trail pistol loaded with snake shot loads.

What permit? Do you have to have a licence?

BG,

I believe it is a buyers permit. They require those in Michigan. It is a complete f_ucking hassle. You have to go to the police station during work hours, take a test, get finger printed and they give you a permit. Then you take the permit to the gun dealer, then there is the 7 day wait, then you take the firearm and permit back to the police station (during work hours of course) for a safety inspection.

Congrate on the pistola.

My first pistol('s) were a matched set of Ruger Blackhawks in .44 Mag,I used to load them up and shoot two handed.I was feeling like Wyat Eyrp, and Tombstone.

I realy liked them guns, still wish I had them.
