Default Rem. Premier Scirocco Bonded ammuniton??

I was wondering how you guys found these particular bullets perform compared to Nosler Ballistic tips, are they basically the same? Or does the bonding make it a better bullet? Now I know that every gun likes a different bullet a little bit better and I'd have to try them for myself, but I've been told that in general bonded bullets are less accurate, I don't reload and am looking for some opinions on what seems to be the more accurate, better preforming bullet over all between Federals Premium nosler ballistic tips and the rem scirocco's.If it matters at all I shoot a .30-06, and hunt deer.....

My experience so far with the Scirocco is that it expands slower and stays together better than the Ballistic Tip. The 130 grain .270, the 150 grain 7MM, and the 165 and 180 grain .30 calibers; have proven to be very good all around elk bullets. The 150 grain .30 caliber is too soft for elk - appears to be designed for deer size game. I tried the 90 grain 6MM on elk last fall, and it also appears to be in a little over its head on an animal this big.

The Ballistic Tips are great varmint bullets; and superb deer and antelope bullets in the heavier weights. I think Nosler recommends them for game up to Caribou size - and then for rib shots only.

Accuracy with both bullets has been very good - sub MOA in most of my guns.

If your looking for a accurate bullet,do you reload? If so go to the barnes triple shock "X" bullets. Its what the industry will have to go to sooner or later. As of Jan next year the norma co. will no longer make lead bullets, and following suit is the Nosler co. as of Jan 2008 they will do the same. The speer game king is a good bullet, and as is sierra bullets. They are made for killing and thats how they got there reputation. Theres a lot to choose from. vangunsmith

I don't find nothing wrong with the Fed. Prim's for deer.I would use
Scirrocco's for larger game than deer. The bigger the game, the bigger
the bone's.

for deer hunting with a .30-06 almosty any bullet from 150-200 grains will do the job nicely. Avoid the target bullets but core lokts, silver tips, power points, sure shocks.....all the traditional bullets are fine.

Are the bonded bullets better?......well dead is dead! Having said that I'd suggest you'll have a lot more pass thrus with the bonded bullets. And that's something I like for a better blood trail.
