It is interesting how this caliber evolved . . . I guess they were looking to fill a certain niche in the big bore rifle world. Looks like a great elk round. If it delivers a little more field thump than the .300 WSM without crossing that threshold of "ouch" recoil, it may have a future. American shooters, however, just haven't really warmed up to the 8MM or the 6.5MM in almost a century - so I would say the odds of it fading into cartridge oblivion are farily high . . . .
