Default Installing Sling Studs

How thick is the forearm on a remington 870 pump 20ga? I want to put in some sling studs but dont know how deep I need to drill or can drill into the forearm.

no no don't drill the forearm. just go to wal-mart and buy a end cap for the shell tube with a sling stud mounted right on it. less than $10.00. unscrew the old screw the new on in about one minute.

What he said - DON'T DRILL THE FOREARM! A replacement cap is available, and is
inexpensive. If not at Wal-Mart, then check with your local gunshop.
