Default 30 Carbine

I have recently accrued a 30 carbine. I was reading on here about value/makes/models of these guns. I was wondering how to distinguish these things. Only markings I can find on the gun is a serial #. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to get a vibe on its value.

Thanks!

Coleridge

go to a delphi forum called Florida Highpower-- there is a specific forum for military guns and how to learn, I forget the name but the folks on FL HP(google for the delphi forum link) will be able to answer the question.

Cole,

Is it M1 military or does it say Univeral or Plainsfield ?Farm tractor companies, auto manufactures even
Singer Sewing Machine made them for the Military. On non-military the hand grip is smaller on some.
Universal has a beefier grip than Plainsfield. These were imported by INTERARMS in Miami FL., now I
believe they are in VA.
Mine is M1 .30cal military and say's "General Motors".
YOU DID'T SAY WHAT .30 CARBINE.......RUGER MINI 14 .30cal carbine?????
