Default I wonder....

What's the small bore rifle with the best accuracy at around 100-200 yards?

I've heard of rifles that shoot 1/2 MOA, but I've never seen any claim less then that....

I'm talking your average middle of the road shooter at 10 yards, what's the best inexpensive rifle??

Basicaly I'm asking if I should save up and drop $1,000 on a rifle, or if $600 for a Savage package gun is good enough.

You can spend many thousands and likely not get a more accurate gun than a Savage.

Savage guns have always been an accurate gun, just not the most stylish in some years, but they could shoot! Who really cares what a gun really looks like if it can shoot! Heck, just a few years ago,the National Skeet and Trap shooter won, with not a multi-thousand dollar gun, It was with a Mossberg Pump. So there you go!! All the whistles and bells on a gun,and engraving doesn,t make it shoot any better. vangunsmith

Thank you, too, vangunsmith.

I'm looking at the model 16FXP3, and was thinking of getting an Elk Ridge stock for it. Only about $250 for the stock on top of the rifle.

Most likely I'll get .223 Rem.

The king of small bore accuracy would be the 6mm PPC
