NO!!!!!...something is wrong here......it's too cheap and warnings and red flags should be sounding all over the place.....

While caution is always wise, just because it's being sold off cheap doesn't ALWAYS mean that there is something wrong with it. Maybe the dealer is just trying to make room on his racks for other rifles that will move better, and that Model 70 has been collecting dust for long enough that he's willing to dump it at cost. I encountered the same thing with my M700ADL .243 Win. I picked it up (well, grabbed it and ran after paying for it is closer to the truth!

) at Wal-Mart on clearance for $275. The only thing "wrong" with it was a very small amount of surface rust on the bolt. 3 seconds with a CLP soaked patch an you'd never know the rust was every there, and the rifle shoots great for a bone stock ADL. I've long planned on building a semi-custom 7mm-08 for my wife to hunt with, and $275 for a NEW M700 action is a great deal. Brownells sells the same thing for $400 retail.
As as a NIB gun, if there is anything wrong with it, he can always send it in to Winchester and have them fix it, and/or he could turn around and sell it used for more than what he paid for it if doesn't suit him. The way I look at it is no matter how you slice it, he wins.
Hunter74,
If you get that rifle, let us know how it shoots.
And again, congrats on both your new rifle and a great deal to boot.
