.22 Hornet on Coyotes

Anyone use one of these on these PIA animals ? I may have to shoot one or two to keep them in check where we do our deer hunting. Other then a 30 magnum and a 308 thats as small a highpower rifle as I own.

I have used a .22 K-Hornet (the hornet with a little extra powder), it works fine, although I haven't taken a shot at a 'yote from more than 50 yards with this, I will save that for my .223 or 22-250.

I used a Ruger #3 when I was hide huntin'. To cut down on exit holes I used the Sierras made for the .220 Swift and .22-250. They called them high velocity then, pushed along with 11.5 grains of 296 they mushroomed like game bullets in the 'yotes. If the target animal was over 100 yards away I didn't get exits. I gave it up due to the fragilility of the brass. If you want to reload, try and round up military brass, its more substantial, but you'll have to load lighter.

Head shots will do.......I have them on my place and shoot them with .22RM....about 30-40yds....
