Winchester Model 12

I have a Model 12, original factory job. Never been refinished or blued or anything like that. Been sitting in a gun cabinet for 30 plus years except when I wipe it down. Anyone have any idea what it's worth or know of a place to find out. It's one of the pre 64 jobs. Matching serial #s on barrell and receiver. It's not your old wood, this is a trap model with a 30 inch Full choke, vented rib with a double bead sight. French walnut with checkering. Receiver is matted. I call it Great condition. I've put about 25 shells through it in the past 30+ years. It was my uncles. He did when I was in Vietnam. His wife gave it to me when I came home in 68. According to the serial number list I found in a book it was made in 1961.

Great looking winchester !! I have one just like it !! As a matter of fact i have i have 11 Model 12's. ranging from the trap model to the Model 42. Great guns, and as far as i a am concerned unsurpassed in shotguns !!!

My father started collecting them, and when he passed away, i continued. Regretfully, the only one i am missing is the 28 ga., field grade. Hopefully i will be able to pick one up to complete "Dad's" collection !!

Anyway, enjoy it, and use it - that's what they were made for !!!

Weve got one just like it in a 20 gauge. I got it from my grandmother( yeah it was hers and she was a helluva shot), anyway, I have just passed it on to my 15 year old son. These guns are a piece of art. Larry

Saw one run the my local gun shop a few months ago and the stock was not as nice and it sold for 850 and didn't last long. If your interested in selling it let me know, I know some people that may be interested.

That looks like a run of the mill trap grade model 12. The stock is fancy American walnut, which was standard. I had one very similar, except that mine had a monte carlo stock. They were available stocked either way. They were very popular on the trap fields, and were almost impossible to wear out. Mine cost 160.00 in about 1958, but I now see them regularly at gun shows priced at 1000.00 and up.
