remington sps rifle

Does anyone own or have any opinions about a remington sps the new one that replaced the adl ?

I bought a 700 SPS in '06 a month and a half ago... i like em better than the 700 ADL... has a drop out magazine / floorplate and the barrel quality actually was good... has the new R3 recoil pad which was pretty nice and the stock isn't a whole lot better than the ADL for feel..... the receiver was pretty square but the lugs had poor contact.... i promptly dismantled this rifle, rebarrelled, restocked, blueprinted, assembled and it is being blued right now.... the one i bought ALSO DID NOT have the ISS (J) lock in the firing pin assembly... bluing and metal finish were pretty rough when compared to the more expensive matte finish 700's.

overall, for a USE gun i wouldn't not consider it... i never did shoot this rifle so i cannot comment on how it actually shot

well good used 700 LA's aren't just growing on trees at good prices round here, believe me i've looked, high and low... tthis was the most economical route in order to get the components i needed to build a custom rifle in a wildcat chambering...
