Default brain teaser

what caliber and what gun can shoot hundreds of yards and the bullet never falls below or raises above the sight of the bore. and how is it done. if you older guys know how to do it hold off a bit and make these younger guys think this over.

If you were 6-700 feet up in the air, and shot straight down, the bullet should not rize above or fall below the sights.

Is the answer the .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer?

Just kidding.

For those interested look up that cartridge, it is real, pretty impressive. It's from back in the days when P.O. Ackley and the boys were taking things to the limit, just to see what happened. Any gunsmith that does work for the space program gets credibility in my book.[:-]

What is the answer?

8mm/06 that's right. that didn't take to long. longrifle1000 got it half right rightaway. but it took about 7 hours before the rest was filled. i'll have to try to remember some of the other old ones they used to tell us.
