Default t/c guys

what is the deal with the oversize pin, i have 2 encore frames and 5 barrels, 1 is a pistol 7-08mm the other is a m/l'er and 3 rifle barrels, i have sent both actions/frames to bellm and had trigger work done, but was wondering what the signs/advantages of the oversize pins are, and if they will still go through the frames (stock) or if they'll need work. btw mine are all real tight with very few rounds and change-overs if that is a concern. just wondering?

The theory behind the oversized pin is it stiffins up the action thus increase accuracy. Since you aren't having problems you probably don't need it. I've also read of people using aluminum tape around the hinge pine holes to freeze the pin with similar results to an oversized pin without the hassel.

thanks flying ferris, mine dosen't get shot that much, and the pin is still very tight, i have to use a brass drift and leather hammer to disassemble, was just wonder if this made a difference like in lock-up with the breech, i don't think i need one yet either, was just wondering if there was something i was missing, my 3 rifle barrels shoot 1" or less and my m/l'er is very close.

thanks again for the input

The oversized pin is more for those that switch barrels often and with that results in "wallowing" out the hinge pin hole on the frame. I have two Encore frames, one I bought when the Encore was first offered. I had three barrels and swapped them quite often and got to noticing that my groups were getting larger and it was getting easier and easier to just push the pin out instead of "forcing" it out. The larger pin tightened everything up. You may eventually need one, but for now, if it ain't broke, there's no need to fix it. Good shootin'!!
