Got my new rifle!!!!

Well just picked up my New Ruger Stainless 25-06 over the weekend!! I am pumped!! I mounted a Simmons Aetec on it as soon as I got home with hopes of a good match. I picked up some 85 grain Ballistic silvertips to try for coyotes til I get the reloading stuff for this cartridge...Anyone have experience with this gun/load combo??? Let me know....Thanks, Adam

hey carp, good choice man. Sounds just like my gun except I got the blued walnut stock. I played around with the 85 BT with 53 gr of IMR 4350 , but i have found the best luck with 115 BT and 48 gr of 4350, gave me between .38 and .50" groups @ 2950 fps. So I may just stick with that load all around. I think my COL was 3.195 or 3.2 if you get a chance try those 115's out !!!

Howdy! I just picked mine up at the gunsmiith's today. I was going to have a timney trigger put in it but the guy said he could get a safe three lb trigger with the stock trigger. HE DID. It feels great. I look at the 25-06 a little different than some. I think it is at its best with 100 grain bullet for both varmits and deer. I like the 100 grain Nosler Ballistic tip for varmits if you don't save the pelts. Then just switch to the 100 grain partition for deer. No changing sight ins and stuff. If I were not going to use it for deer than I might look at a pure varmit load. I shot three deer with it this fall with the 100 grain ballistic tip and one with a 115 grain Ballistic tip. I wany to try a few more bullets but I could live with the ballistic tip in either weight. Glad to see another 25-06 supporter.

Mine is the Ruger M-77 Blue with the old synthetic stock.

I have the Rugerstainless with the old style stock and its one of my favorites to hunt with . About all I shoot is Barnes 100 gr X bullets right now but will be trying the triple shock when I run out of the X bullets . Ive tried them in a couple other calibers and they shoot very well in my guns .

Nice combination on rifle, scope and choice of caliber. The 25.06 is pure deer poison!
