Default Gun Purchase

Ok heres the thing , im in california , and i got a friend who bought a couple guns , pistols from one of his friends wich where his dads , wich his dad is diseased , ok now lets say we go shooting and he gets his guns checked by the cops are they legal being not registerd to him ? another question , how can he make the guns legal ? the friend he bought them from said his dad was a gun colletor and dont know if his dad registerd them in his name is there a way my friend can check them out ? THANKS any help will do

Never heard of cops checking guns at ranges. As far as voluntarily registration goes- its best to let that sleeping dog lie.

Legally in California you are supposed to transfer all gun sales through a dealer even private party sales to comply with California firearm laws . As far as the Number they won't check it as long as you don't do anything illegal with it .

THANKS GUYS , but we dont go to gun ranges , mostly out in the desert , And lets just say we get pulled over and they checked them and they wher not registerd to my friend and we did nothing illegal ? just curious [:-] again THANKS
