Default Anybody seen the new SW 629 Hunter Light?

Oh, I dig it. I was reading about it in Handloader mag. And wierd enough they didn't shoot a handload thru it. Thats another topic. But its a very nice looking gun. Make a good hunter. Not sure if its that much more worth the Ruger Super however.

I fondled one at Scheels a short time back. I was in tears when I left without it. It is in my future. One thing though, it is a gun meant to be carried a lot and shot a little. Its to light to be real fun to shoot. It would not be bad with light loads for practice. Its a pretty son of a gun. Great back-up big game gun.

Nope I haven't seen one of these Smith's you're talking about.Today I went to Ruger's site. They have a picture of the New Super Redhawk named
The "Alaskan" Chambered in either the 454 Casull(45 Colt) or the mighty 480 Ruger. They come equipped with Hogue Monogrips. I forgot to mention these Alaskan's only have a 2 1/2" barrel and weigh in @ 42 oz.I'm sure that would be a handful to hang on to.

I was reading about that alaskian in the new Guns and ammo. Pretty cool backup gun. It only had 170fps drop in velocity compared to the 7.5" version.

Yes, saw the writeup on the gun but haven't read the entire article yet. Any idea what the price on one of them might be?
