Default Handi rifle costs.

Hey guys just wondering what a handi rifle is going for in your neck of the woods.

My son is going to be getting a new rifle for his birthday next month and I am thinking one of these would be about perfect for his first high power rifle. The price is right and the interchangeable barrels is a definite plus.

I'm thinking about the ultra with the laminated stock or the synthetic/ blued model.

I just looked at the catalog at Walmart yesterday. The plain wood stock in all calibers were 187.50. The Synthetics were 8.00 dollars higher. The don't list the ULTRA but around here they run about 50-60 dollars higher. They are a fine little rifle. I have it in 45-70, 280. 44 Mag 223 and a Buffalo classic on the way also in 45-70. I still need a 22 hornet barrel and a 30-30 barrel. AT LEAST. You may not wish to buy it from Walmart but thats about what they should go for.

Well I didn't shop around much but the new Buffalo Classic was 299.00. It came with the peep sights and a real nice looking stock. They also had the 38-55 with the shorter barrel but I have not figured out just what bullet the thing shoots. I may add that barrel later.

I just found a Stainless steel 223 synthetic for 239.00 and jumped on that one as well. Walmart did not show the Stainless in 223 just 243 270 and 30-06 They also don't list the BC. I am totally hooked on those darn Handi-rifles.[:@] They are plain and simple. Kind of like me.

The 38-55 is a piece of junk in my opinion NEF didn't chamber it right .its a reloaders nightmare .

Thanks guys for confirming what I thought. I figured the synthetic would be about $200 or less.

There is a gun shop here in town that I stopped in to check prices and they are wanting $280 for a synthetic blued .270. I think they must have been smoking crack when they priced them.[8D][8D][8D]
