Default Ruger No 1 25-06

Found a good deal on a Ruger No 1 in 25-06. Very Nice gun and in great condition..trigger is nice as well so it won't have to be adjusted. With a 26" barrel it should pretty well max out a 25-06 and not make me have to buy/build a 257 weatherby.

A buddy of mine bought a 25-06 No. 1 a few years ago (I bought a .30-06 No. 1 International at the time), he absolutely loved his. The .25-06 is a great round, I've had it in two other rifles in the past, for me, the difference between it and the .257Wby mag was about the same as the gap between the .308win and .30-06, real, but irrelevant. I don't know what you're intending to hunt, but I used mine for antelope and whitetails over pretty long distances, as well as some long range coyote hunting, on the order of 500yrd coyote hunting.

A friend of mine has a SS Ruger #1 in 25-06 and he loves it. You can drive tacks w/ it. Whenever we shoot it you can put 3 shots on top of each other at 100 yards.

My fathers favorite gun is now his .25-06 international #1... It is a pretty gun I will give him that, but is loud as heck! Anyway his .270 #1 was his favorite till it took a tumble from a tree stand this year. I would say it shoots great for a #1.
