I have one in 30-06,it has never jammed and get 1MOA to 1 1/2 moa @ 100 yds the are alot of bolt guns that can't do that.I'v made some 300 + yard kills with it on deer and elk.

The old 760 wasn't too accurate, but they decided to free float the barrel in the 7600. The company says that it now achieves accuracy on par with their bolt guns. Maybe so and maybe not, but there is no doubt that floating the barrel made the 7600 a WHOLE lot more accurate than the older 760.

If I wanted quick follow up shot capability, I wouold rather have a 7600 than my own 742 semi auto. The second shot would be just about as fast and the accuracy of the 7600 is way nbetter than the 742 or 7400.

The 7600 does not malfunction and most hunters would not even notice the difference in accuacy between a Bolt gun and the 7600. An old 760 270 that I had was the most accurate rifle that I ever owned.

My 308 shoots everything I feed it under 1.5" at 100 yards and will shoot cloverleafs with 180 grain Core-lokts SPs. I took the scope off and use this rifle as my main stillhunting/tracking rifle. It has proven to be a reliable, accurate, and handy rifle. I own some very accurate bolts and single shots that I'm extremely fond of but when I choose to get down and dirty with deer in Maine's swamps, this is the rifle I carry.

I have a 760 in .270. It's a great gun. It's no tackdriver, but will shoot 1.5-2" groups with dang near any ammo.

If I was to load up some handloads for it, it would definitely shoot 1 moa groups. It has never failed me.

Another vote in favor of the 7600. The first rifle I bought myself after graduating high school was a Rem Mod 7600 .30-06. I like it because I get close to semi-auto speed without sacrificing accuracy or reliability. I am getting 1-1.5" groups using Win BT 150gr at 100 yds. The pump action is very natural following recoil and eventually you will be able to chamber another shell almost involuntarily. I also like it because very few people hunt with a pump action rifle which makes the rifle more interesting to me.

Don't know about the Waterville show but my experience with gun shows hasn't been that great. I usually can do significantly better pricewise from local shops.i
