The distance at where you want the bullet at "zero" or point of aim.

Example... Someone that hunts in thick cover may sight their bullet to hit at point of aim at 100 yards. Someone else that hunts pronghorn on the planes may sight in their rifle so that the bullet hits point of aim at 250 or 300 yards.

Take a 30-06 with 150 grain ballistic tips.

Sighted in to hit point of aim at 100 yards it will hit approximately 7 inches low at 250 yards.

Now sight the same bullet to hit point of aim at 250 yards and it won't be 7 inches low until it gets to almost 350 yards.

The 100 yard zero will be approximately 19 inches low at 350 yards.

if you look at this site in both the long and short trajectory are 0 at 100 yards. but the long trajectory seems to drop much faster. can anyone explain that to me?
