Default help with a scope mount

I'm getting a winchester mod 70 featherweight in .270. I've decided to put an elite 3200 3x9x40 on it, and the last thing i need to get is the scope mount. I am probably gonna get a Leupold 2 piece base. My question is, what type of Leupold rings should I get? Will the 1" standard rings do the trick for a 3200 elite? If so, what height of rings should I get? they have choices ranging from Super Low, low, Med, High, Super high. Any help is grealty appreciated.... thanks!

go to leupold.com and go to ring/mount selector, put in your gun and scope and bam, they even give you part numbers.

The Bushnell could be replaced with a VXII 3-9X40. Close to the same size. Mediums would definatley work, but lows might. Compare the lengths of the two different brands and come back and let us know what you found out.

According to "Leupold 2004" catalog the Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 will take Leupold Dual Dovetail low rings with Dual Dovetail Bases. Your Bushnell Elite 3200 3-8x40 will also if your objective bell is 1.8" in diameter or smaller. I suggest you use Leupold Dual Dovetail rings and bases. Good luck.

The dual dove tail bases with burris signature rings is a real sweet set-up as well. The signature rings "self center" with their nylon inserts, its so sweet to install. Just did one and went

I have used the Leupold ring/base selector and found it to be wrong. On one of the rifles I was working on it said medium. However, for $hits and giggles I tried the lows and it worked. So I would use the ring/base selector as a starting point and get the scope as close to the barrel as possible.

Like BC said it is very close to a Vari-x II 3-9x40 and will use the same mounts.
