A weatherby 30-378 or a 12 guage slug?

Gun weights being equal... my thinking would be that the 12guage slug would have more foot-pounds of recoil. BUT, and this is a big but, The 30-378wby would be sending that gun back at you a LOT faster, making for a much sharper hit. The slow-moving slug will make the gun recoil slower, which spreads the energy out, and you get more of a hard push than a stiff kick.

i think that the 30-378 would hurt more if that is what you whated to know.

The 12Ga would have a sharper kick due to the powder used, but overall energy would go to the 30-378. The 30 would be more of a slow roll hard push. About the same, just different.
