Default Which scope???

I've had many leupold's, 1 Burris (ouch), and 2 Nikons. (Well..several more unmentionables) Double ouch.

Question: Which is the better scope? Only personal experience need apply please.
ZEISS Conquest 3-9x40
Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10x40

I know Leupold is good but the price hurts.

Clarity is very important as is accurate movements and TOUGH!!!

Zeiss is a far better scope than any Bushnell...

Bushnell is actually a very good scope. Conquest is a little brighter and clearer and it definitely has more compact dimensions as well as much more eye relief. Go with the Zeiss. In Customer Service department I don't think anyone can top them as well.

I have a conquest 3-9x40 on a rifle I admittedly do not often use but I am pleased with the scope for the money. I have several of the better bushnell scopes which are not bad, but I think they are still a little outclassed by the Zeiss.

I went to the local Bass Pro Shop in Memphis to check out the Conquest and wasn't really pleased with what I found. It seems to be very critical of eye position. It was very clear and bright with plenty of eye relief. I guess I just expected more. I honestly believe the 4200 elite was brighter and more user friendly. I really don't know why I even asked about other scopes I ended up buying a Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x40. I've had nothing but flawless performance from them and can't really make myself buy anything else. Thanks for the input.

7mmaniac Good choice!!!! This last summer I bought a Leupold VX-III 4.5x14x50mm with the Long Range 30mm Tube and B&C Duplex to go on top of a new .300 RUM, it set me back $600 and that was on sale. But I would buy it again in a minute I love my new scope as well as my older model Leupolds. IMHO Leupold is hard to beat!
