Are you talking about a bore mop for black powder rifles? If so, I just wash them by hand with regular dish soap and rinse thouroughly and allow to air dry.

I do not use bore mops for smokeless firearms. Only phosphor bronze brushes and cotton patches on either a bore jag, a patch holder/loop, or both.

What driftrider said................wash them by hand with dishwashing soap and then air dry.

I occassionally will use bore mops with copper solvent in rifles................ no false patch readings that way.
