I would go with whatever the barrel says but then again i haven't seen the rifle. the stock may have been modified to fit the winchester. Hope that helps

IMHO, Ruger made the rifle and....
the rifle is chambered for 270 Winchester, a well known cartridge chambered in MANY different brands of rifles. My first high power was a Remington 700 chambered for 270 Win.

I believe you are confusing rifle manufacturers vs cartridge chamberings.

yes 270 win is the cartridge chambering, same as 300 win, 7mm Rem,and 338 win.

I agree! I beleive it is a Ruger rifle chambered for 270 Winchester. It is most likely a synthetic model 77 MKII. Is the stock carved out ahead of the butt plate on both sides?

It should have the manufaturer's name stamped on the barrel also, something like "Ruger Arms" and a city/state, along with the model
