I just got the all weather ruger in .30-06 last month, I really like it and it shoots great. However that Rem CDL is a good looking rifle, Toss up.

I prefer Ruger rifles. I have several and they are tough accurate and reliable.

If you are going for a Weatherby Sporter, you might as well get a 7mm Wby. Mag. Good luck.

I'd go for a Ruger 77 MkII. The Remington CDL is a nice looking rifle, but I just like
the Rugers better.
As for the 7mm Wthby. Mag. chambering, why? It really doesn't offer much over the
7mm Remington Mag., except you pay a lot more for the ammo - when you can find it.
Stick with the 7mm Rem. Mag.

My choice in order would be remington, ruger, weatherby. Take a look at the 7mm WSM ballistics, I think it's viable option.

Virgina7:

You are right the 7mm Rem. Mag., and the 7mm Wby. Mag. have almost the exact ballistics. The reason I suggested the 7mm Wby. Mag. in a Weatherby Mark V Sporter is because it will retain more value that way. Good luck.

I'm partial to rugers but I'd consider the cdl. It sure looks better than the adl or bdl. The winchester super grade is also worth looking at.
