Default ithaca barrel not fitting my browning gold

hey, im back....but yes that is right anithaca barrel on my browning shotgun. ithaca started to make aftermarket barrels for brownings. I have not been able to find a rifled slug barrel with sights for my shotgun. so i bought the ithaca barrel, and it did not fit, my forend sits about 1/4" foreward than it does with my field barrel. I bought another ithaca barrel to see if the 1st one was defective and the forend was still positioned the same. it appears that the ring that slides over the magazine tube is posiitioned to far forward on the ithaca barrels, or do i just have 2 defective barrels. also, why doesn't hastings make barrels for browning gold. all i want is a rifled barrel with sights, is that to much to ask???

Yea, those gold barrels from browning are outrageous at 400 dollars for a cantilever. I bought the deer slug gun gold due to that. And got the gold smooth bore barrel later.

I was seeing those ithica barrels and thinking maybe I shouldn't have got the browning slug gun but bought a smooth bore and get the ithaca, but am glad I did after reading your post, seems I made the right decision. Let us know what Ithaca says.

well the first thing he said, was geez, we dont make barrels for 3.5 inch browning guns. i told him mine was 3", but he still insisted that my gun was 3.5" otherwise it would fit perfectly. finally i convinced him that i knew what size gun i had and he said to have a gunsmith look at it then call them. well it doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure out that both barrels to not fit. Does anyone know how long these ithaca gold barrels have been on the market for, and if anyone else has complained? thanks

They only started selling them in the past 5 or so months. And I don't know anyone that has tried these. Everybody is trying to get into the aftermarket barrel market. I just got 18.5" cyl bore barrel from mossberg for my 870.
