Default smith and wesson 44mag

I have a SandW 44mag. It is stainless steel, has an 8 3/8in. barrel on it. Wood grips with the SandW logo on them. Has ajustible sights. Its a model 29-2. I was just seeing if anybody had an idea on how much it would be worth. It is in very good condition. Thanks for any replies!

Suggest you go to the following gun auction sites, and search 44 in the handgun sections.
See if there's anything similar, and what they are going for. Hope it helps.

Jay79 If your S&W 44 Mag is Stainless Steel you have a Model 629 and not a Model 29.With S&W the "6" indicates Stainless Steel. The Model 29's were discontinued some years back. The 29's were Blued or Nickel.Ruger uses a "K" to identify Stainless.

Jay, like ruger redhawk said, if its a 29-2, its not stainless. If its shiney and has 29-2 stamped on it, its nickel. In this part of the country, it will bring you more cash than a stainless one will. Smith quit using nickel around '89 and they've become somewhat of a collector's item. With your's being the long barrel, it'll bring the most. In the condition you say it is, it wouldn't be any problem fetching $500 or more for it around here. Good luck, if you decide to sell. If I were you, I'd hang on to it. Its only going to go up in value.

T/C Fan, Funny how people's taste differ. You mentioned Nickel and a collectors item.I have never liked Nickel.Once I got a deal on a new Model 57 8 3/8" Nickel.Back when they were scalping for around 500.00 because they were so scarce.. I got mine for around 250.00 which was retail price. That was back in the mid 70's.I hated the looks of the nickel.I traded it for another M-57 same barrel but Blued.I had I think one or two other Nickel guns and unloaded them first chance I got.I wish I had kept that Blued 57.As far as that goes I wish I had kept my 7.5"S/S 41 Mag Redhawk.
