Default Full choke w/ Slugs?

Opening weekend starts saturday and my dad borrowed a shotgun for me to use.(we are going to be hunting on some shotgun only land) It happens to be full choke, Is it safe(for me and the gun) to shoot slugs out of a full choke shotgun?

All I know is Mossberg specifically states not to use slugs with their full chokes.

It is not the best but if you stick with the standard forster slug like Rem slugger you should be ok. there will be more recoil than with a IC or cylender choke . Never shoot a saboted slug out of your full !
