ive been using the 180 grain accubonds on deer in texas in 30-06 and 300 win mag and have had good luck. also dropped a bull elk with an accubond at 250 yards with a 30-06. ive been told that they dont provide good expansion need for whitetail but everytime i shoot one in the vitals it hasnt ran more than 10 yards. What do u think about em on deer

I would think the delayed expansion would work against you, but a perfect shot will still drop a deer with no expansion. I've known guys to kill deer with 147 grain full metal jackets in 30-06 with perfect shots. I wouldn't recommend it, but I've seen it.
I use plain Jane Winchester Super X 165 grain pointed softies. Never a problem! Relatively cheap factory stuff too.
i forgot to add that the bullet usually passes through but leaves about a 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch exit wound, on longer shots at 30-06 velocities im worried that the bullet would not open up enough, any comments on this?

tex, from all the reports I have read, these bullets pancake just like a bullistic tip but are bonded to keep them from fragmenting. I think they are a ideal bullet for you applications.
