Dad's going to restore this puppy for the Sheriff's Department. Maybe make a bipod or tripod for it. Will probably be funner then heck to shoot.

What you have there is a M1919A4 .30cal Browning Maching Gun. Like all other Browning designs, a very good gun in its time. It's big brother, the M2 .50cal Browning Heay Machine Gun is still in regular service with the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. I shot MANY rounds out of a "Ma Deuce," and enjoyed every minute of it!
If he restores it well and decides to sell it, he could get a pretty nice sum of money for it.
