Default Scope for .338 Win Mag.

I want a good scope for this brusier. I want to spend no more than $175.00. What do you all recomend? I want the scope to last for years to come and be able to take the punishment that the .338 will dish out.

Thanks GHJ.

For that price range, The Nikon Pro Staff would fit the bill at about 150.oo The Simmons Aetec is about 129-149 depending on where you find it. The Leupold VX l is about 200.00. Any of these scopes should stand up to the recoil and hold together for many years of service. I use all three of them. Good scopes. Bushnell Trophy model scopes should also stand up well as would the 3200 Bushnell although the later will be a tad ove 200.00

Get either a fixed power Leupold or a Tasco Titan. Couple of fellows at the gun club have 338's and thats whats on there and they hold up extremely well and these are the old models. The new models are very robust.

I owned a .338 for 20years and believe me it will shake apart cheap scopes as fast as you can buy them. Based on your budget I would seriously shop around for a used leupold. Both my .338 rifles had leupold VARIX II 2x7x32 and they held up perfectly. If you can scrape a few more bucks together a Leupold VX1 is a sturdy scope even if its not leading edge optics and technology. Put junk on a .338 and you will have to buy a good one anyway, when it fall apart.

TerryM is square on, go used before you go cheap.

I've had a Leupold Vari X II 2x7 on my 338WinMag for nigh on 30 years now --- NO problems --- killed a LOT of game with that set up!

I want a good women, that can cook clean, sew, and change the oil. I want this women to be able to tune my Harley's motor and own a really nice Electra Glide. I want this women to be loaded, and loves to share with her new man. I want this lady to be nice, sexy, and loyal, and always worrying about my needs.

We all want something.

Good luck, maybe find something used.

Hell,

I just want one for a few hours!!!!!

I would look into a used scope, if it were me. If you want a good scope for a little more. You should look into the Leupold or Nikon scopes.

The good thing about them is , if they are broke then just send them in and they will be like a new one when they drop it back off at your door.

I didnt think to kind of the Leupold Scopes until I discovered that I was the one that broke my brand new scope while mounting it.
But Leupold didnt charge me a dime to fix it. I use it on my 338 RUM,
and it takes the recoil like a champ.

just a thought.
