Default 12 guage slug questions???

does anyone know how well sabot slugs shoot out of a 28'' rifled choke 870? im too broke to go out and buy a bunch of slugs at 7 to 11 bucks for 5 just to shoot a hole in paper. i am new at deer hunting with a slug gun. last year i used remington sluggers out of the same set up but they just dont reach out as far as id like.an extra 25-45 yards would be great. i also have a saddle mount with red dot scope mounted on my scatter gun.

I know quite a few slug hunters who shoot sabots past 100 yards in their setups, but the only way for you to be sure is to head to the range. Different ammo can perform in different ways, so invest a little time and money and make sure you're ready for gun season. Better to do that now than go out there opening day with an untested load and miss or wound an animal.

I've found that the LIGHTFIELDS slugs work best no matter what my set up is

I agree it can be expensive, but you really have to test each brand to your shotgun. But I find that LIGHTFIELDS SLUGS work best in all my set up and my friends agree with the LIGHTFIELDS.

I would try two different ones. Lightfields maybe will do ok. Remington sluggers are going to be your best choice and cheaper than dirt.
