Default .223 sight in

I have to sight my single shot .223, and I was wondering is there a general rule as to what to sight in at to make it accurate to a few hundred yards? example: Inch high at 100 yards or even better dead on at 50 yards Etc. Black hills ammo 52. gr. hollow point. I will be plinking and hopefully a coyote or 2. Thanks in advance.

Default RE: .223 sight in

This is only a general, close guess at how your rifle may shoot, based on zeroing in a fair number of rifles in various calibers. If you are using a scope and fire the .223Rem bullet to point blank zero at 50 yards, you should be a tad high at 100 yards and pretty close to zero at 200 yards. That said, nothing beats trying out this theory in practice.
