Default which 3 1/2 inch shotgun to get

I want to get a good turkey shotgun thats capable of chambering the 3 1/2 inch shell. I want one that holds a good pattern for an affordable price. I cant affor a browning gold or remington 11-87 right now. So I was thinking of a pump or cheaper semi auto. Please reply back on what you think would be a good gun to choose and what the price runs on it.

i've got a benelli and an 835 mossberg, but i very rarely shoot 3.5 shells, besides i met ben lee one time and he pretty much told me it was a waiste of money, he'd been killing turkey for years with 2 3/4" #6 he said the 3.5 would probably get more hunters than (ahh) turkeys. btw this was right after becoming the proud new owner of a mossberg 835 and to tell you the truth he kind if hurt my feelings, but he was just trying to tell me it's not a have-to-have item, for goose hunters shooting steel shot maybe????????????

The mossberg and 870 are great choices. A few claims have came out against the 870 supermag saying it didn't chamber all the way and blew the reciever out. If you do a search last year on it, you will find it here. But I am sure remington has remedied the issue if there was any. Especially one that could hit the wallet. I am thinking of putting together a turkey only gun. No need for a semi for turkey. Keep the semi for pheasents and ducks, maybe squrrels.

I would like to have a scoped shotgun I could pattern out to 50 yards with hevishot. I have seen guns very 50 yard capable.

My current turkey gun is the Browning BPS 3.5" 12 ga. Shooting 3.5" HeviShot loads from Nitro and a Rhino choke it is easily a 50 yard gun. Browning is offering a $75 rebate on all 3.5" BPS shotguns(direct from Browning) until November 30. This is on top of the best deal you can talk the dealer in to.
