Has anny one shot the 504 and if so what wer your thats?

i know I can get a 40x in .22 but I do not whant to pay that much!

My opinion is this gun is not woth the price. Buy a CZ. If you look at the remington, there is nithing on that rifle that makes it superior to a CZ or similar rifle. These stupid thing are selling here for around $800. I have a Marlin that I paid $250 for, and it will shoot as good as Anshutch all day long. That's sick, but true. Why would Remington even joke about charging so much for a bolt action 597? If you look at the magazine, they are similar, with a few mofifacations made. The stock is nothing fancy, and it doesn't feel as nice as a CZ's stock. In fact, it's kind of clubby. The blueing is all matte, so there is very little cost to the finishing, so where do they figure it's worth that kind of price tag? And, you may not like me for saying this, but it looks nothing like the 700. The CZ American, on the other hand, does, minus the ebony fore-end. Good luck with your decision.

I do NOT own a 504, but i have been following post on it around the net as i find them.

I've read that it's very accurate and looks to be well made. I think most agree it's over priced though. One guy owned one and said it was a toss up between the 504 and a Kimber.

"If" you feel it looks like your 700 and you want one, go for it!! It's YOUR money, and only YOU have to be happy with your purchase!!

For me, i like my 22's a bit more petite than a Kimber or 504, and i like the quality to be better than a Marlin, so i'd pick something all together different.
